Pelton

A Pelton turbine mainly serves to produce electricity through the transformation of potential energy into kinetic energy and is still today the turbine with a higher efficiency.

The Pelton turbine is an impulsive water turbine. It was invented by Lester Allan Pelton in 1870. It extracts energy from the impulse of moving water, as opposed to the dead weight of water such as the traditional gravity waterwheel.

Our Pelton turbine line is divided according to the following classification:

  • Horizontal axis with 1 to 3 nozzles
  • Vertical axis with 3 to 6 nozzles
  • Injectors with internal or external drive

 

The turbine is composed of:

  • Runner (monolithic or elements)
  • Turbine casing
  • Emergency deflectors in the event of a power failure
  • Distribution pipe with bifurcations
